Siddhartha (Buddha)

Buddha Statue by Tanner GriffinI’m reading Siddhartha by Herman Hesse right now, and I’m wondering what’s going to happen when Siddhartha meets Buddha.  So far, he has lived in a palace, but he left because he wanted to see the world, then lived with the Samanas in the forest, where he learned meditation, and how to picture himself being other things in the world, how to lose his Self, but it just wasn’t enough.  So now he’s going to see the Buddha in the next chapter (Chapter 3).  It’s going to be very exciting.  Here’s a picture I drew of Buddha.  I worked very hard on the watercolors and the drawing.  I made mistakes drawing a bunch of times until I got it right.  The tip is to start with the head.  Peace, Love, and Siddhartha, Tanner.  P.S.  Maybe one of you would like the book I’m reading.

  2. That’s my favorite book. Of course, I didn’t read it until I was 20!

  3. I love your watercolor painting, Tanner! I haven’t read that book in so long, and you have just inspired me to read it again.
